Three people were fatally shot outside a driver’s license office in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, and several people fled the scene in a vehicle, the police said.
The Louisville Metro Police Department told residents to stay away from the scene at the Driver Licensing Regional Office at 6202 Willismore Drive, near Dixie Highway, where a large group of law enforcement personnel had responded to the shooting at noon.
The victims were found in the parking lot, the police said in a statement posted to social media. One man died at the scene and two women were taken to a hospital, where they died, the police said.
There were “no known suspects,” the police said in the statement. When asked if the shooting was a murder-suicide, an officer said no.
A police officer said at a news conference that aired on local television stations that officials were still investigating, collecting video surveillance and interviewing witnesses. The police did not have information about a motive or whether the three victims were connected.
This is a developing story.
