Australia’s Eurovision entrant, Go-Jo, has been knocked out of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
Go-Jo, whose real name is Marty Zambotto, opened the second semi-final with his song Milkshake Man on Friday morning (AEST).
Viewers chose their favourite performances via televote, and 10 countries went through out of the 16 in the second semi-final.
Lithuania, Israel, Armenia, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Latvia, Malta and Greece were the 10 countries that made it through.
In addition to Australia, Montenegro, Ireland, Georgia, Czechia and Serbia were also knocked out of the contest in the second semi-final.
There will be one more semi-final before this weekend’s grand final, which you can watch on Sunday 18 May at 5am AEST on SBS and SBS On Demand.
Go-Jo spoke to SBS News ahead of the semi-final, and was asked what success would look like for him in this year’s contest.
“I think just seeing smiles,” he replied, adding that it would be a reflection of the hard work that went into the performance.
“A lot of people would see me, as the performer, but I have an incredible team behind everything.
I think one of the most meaningful things is making them proud, and obviously Australia. It’s such a big thing for me. Just, seeing everyone smile at the end of everything, I think that’s a big win.”
