Biden taps Allvin to be next Air Force top officer

President Joe Biden has nominated Gen. David Allvin to be the next chief of staff of the Air Force.

If confirmed, Allvin would succeed Gen. C.Q. Brown, who is Biden’s pick to be the next chair of the Joint Chiefs.

Allvin’s nomination was submitted on Tuesday, according to a Senate notice, though it has not yet been publicly announced. Allvin is now the Air Force’s second ranking officer.
