Manulife International and Bupa International have reached an agreement through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly offer integrated healthcare solutions in Hong Kong.
The partnership aims to give customers improved options for managing their health.
Both organisations have stated that their goal is to enhance access to care by using the strengths of each company.
The collaboration is set to develop a more connected healthcare network for people in Hong Kong.
This approach aims to support the well-being of local residents by offering expanded access to medical services.
Customers will have access to care that covers various stages of their healthcare needs, along with support tailored to individual circumstances.
Manulife Hong Kong and Macau CEO Patrick Graham said: “This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in our ambition to be the health partner of choice, driving better value and health outcomes for our customers.
“By combining our strengths with Bupa, this strategic collaboration will offer greater choice and sustainable healthcare solutions that empower individuals and communities to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.”
The companies noted that the collaboration is expected to bring advantages to both customers and their businesses.
They added that further details about the ongoing development of this partnership will be provided at a later stage.
Bupa Hong Kong managing director Fiona Harris said: “By joining forces, we can reach more of the people of Hong Kong, introducing new innovations and creating more opportunities through embracing the era of digital health and AI.
“Together, we are dedicated to delivering future ready, customer first, individualised healthcare solutions.”
Earlier this year, Manulife Hong Kong introduced two critical illness insurance products aimed at addressing concerns about income loss during prolonged medical treatment for serious conditions.
The two new plans, IncomeGuard Critical Illness Protector and IncomeShield Critical Illness Protector, offer yearly payouts.
They also feature a continuous treatment benefit for heart attack and stroke cases, which the company describes as a first in the market.
“Manulife and Bupa partner on healthcare solutions in Hong Kong ” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
