This year’s Thanksgiving just went by and the World has seen how people donated food for the less fortunate, hosted community dinners and how homeless were fed and embraced across the country. But as the festivity ended the scenario has completely changed. Maybe people don’t think this way but the President remarks over the growing population of homeless is making the headlines. In a recent event President Trump has said “cities are going to hell”, his remark is seen as his advocacy against violation of environmental rules. But many of Trump’s opponents believe that the statement of the President is backed by his self-belief to push a tougher approach for the homeless because his policies aren’t doing any good for the economy.

No matter how the President think but in reality major states have been witnessing a soaring population of homeless people covering up the landscape of major cities and outskirts. It is indeed quite an embarrassing situation for a developed nation like USA to have such a large population of homeless crowd which is covering the cities like mushroom. So is USA slowly becoming the homeless capital of the world? This report will give you an insight on how things are becoming miserable for people who don’t have a roof under them.

Many homeless advocates in USA say that they are concern about the local authorities which are misusing the policies to lock up people for camping in cities despite the fact that if people don’t have any place to live where will they go. Many people are saying that “you can’t criminalize people for not having a home”. Intellectuals are saying that it is just a propaganda of the current government because they have failed miserably to cope up with the growing housing crisis.

Not only is the government losing on patience with the homeless but many of the cities are also running low on patience. Anybody can sense the growing anger of people and authorities against the hordes of grimy people. If it is seen as an environmental friendly gesture of the authorities and locals then it can be justified but it is also unjustified if the root cause of homelessness is overlooked. Nobody wants to live on footpaths in small tents with no sanitation facility around.

Many of the major cities seems like tightening the screws on homeless and have opt for different approach to remove homeless doing the encroachment. Authorities of cities like Las Vegas, Austin in Texas, Bakersfield in California, Spokane in Washington, Phoenix etc. are tackling the issue on their own by issuing various circulars and implementing actions like banning sleeping on streets, removing homeless from state highway underpasses, admitting addicted or mentally retarded homeless into rehab centers, ceasing personal belongings, forcing homeless out of encampments etc.

But the real issue behind the growing population of homeless is the soaring rents and high home costs. This is one of the prime reason which has forced many low income families to couch surf or live in cars and trailers or even tents or out in the open. This is slowly becoming a national issue for the country because if the housing market is not going to offer relaxation for the low income people the population of homeless will be worse of a kind dilemma for the most developed country in the world.
