The Sept. 20 Metro article “Sugarloaf closure raises concerns over its future” should alarm us all. The first principle of better development, especially in rapidly growing areas, is figuring out where you should not develop. Sugarloaf Mountain and its environs should never be developed. It is one of the most important green spaces in the Washington metro area. It should also, consistent with the intent of its original owner, always be open to the public.
