Regarding the Oct. 4 news article “Judge declares gag order in Trump’s fraud trial”:
A judge basically told former president Donald Trump to shut up and shut down.
Mr. Trump is the mouth that roared at Mexicans, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), women, immigrants and political opponents, the FBI, the CIA and basically every other combination of capital letters; at Congress; at those who recognize global warming; at those who challenge autocrats and dictators; at those who believe in science, the Constitution, the rule of law, the sanctity of elections and truth; and at those who have empathy for those struggling to hold on — fundamentally at everyone and everything that did not see the world according to Trump.
Mr. Trump, fermez your bouche. The echoes of Joseph Welch’s scathing question to Joe McCarthy reverberate wherever you sully the air with your words, for, sir, you have no sense of decency. As such, the judge’s order is that you sit in the corner and think about what you have done. Respectfully, Mr. Former President, shut up and shut down.
