Trump and immigration

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) made an obvious statement with her “Make America Great Again” hat and a less obvious one with a shirt reading “Say Her Name: Laken Riley.” The shirt, and similar badges worn by others, referred to the nursing student who was killed last month while out for a run in Athens, Ga. Jose Ibarra, a man who immigration authorities say crossed the U.S. border unlawfully in 2022, was arrested last month on murder and assault charges, and the case has become a talking point for Republicans criticizing Biden’s border policies.
